AMX-170 Closed Orbital Weld Head
The AMX-170 closed weld head is designed to meet the demanding requirements of large diameter tube applications, delivering reliable, consistent, and repeatable orbital welds. Compatible with multiple industry-standard orbital welding power sources, it provides maximum flexibility for integration into existing welding systems and production environments.
Designed for orbital welding through a simple fusion process without adding filler metal, the AMX-170 is ideal for thin-wall stainless steel tubing from 38–170 mm (1.5–6.625 in.) O.D. It is also well suited for oxidation-sensitive nickel and titanium alloys, making it an ideal solution for pharmaceutical, chemical processing, food and beverage, semiconductor, aerospace, and other demanding industrial applications where weld quality and piping integrity are critical.

The AMX-170 is not compatible with AMI 227, 327, 415, and MAGNATECH Pipemaster 515/516 and Tubemaster 514.
