New AMX-52, AMX-115 and AMX-170 deliver precision orbital welding with expanded power source compatibility
S.F.E. Group is pleased to introduce the new AXXAIR AMX range of Closed Orbital Weld Heads, designed to deliver precise, repeatable orbital welds with greater flexibility for a wide range of tube welding applications.
The new range includes the AMX-52, AMX-115 and AMX-170, covering tube outside diameters from 6 to 170 mm (0.25 to 6.625 in.). Designed for fusion welding without filler metal, the AMX range is ideal for stainless steel, nickel alloys, titanium and other demanding materials.
A key advantage of the new AMX range is its compatibility with selected AXXAIR, AMI and Magnatech orbital welding power sources, providing customers with greater flexibility when adding new weld heads to their orbital welding systems.
Three Sizes for a Wide Range of Applications
AMX-52 Closed Orbital Weld Head
6 to 52 mm (0.25 to 2 in.) O.D.
AMX-115 Closed Orbital Weld Head
12 to 115 mm (0.5 to 4.5 in.) O.D.
AMX-170 Closed Orbital Weld Head
38 to 170 mm (1.5 to 6.625 in.) O.D.
The AMX-52 and AMX-115 feature a narrow-profile design for welding in confined spaces, optimized gas diffusion for improved arc stability and stainless steel clamping jaws with quick, tool-free assembly.
For larger-diameter applications, the AMX-170 features an optimized gas diffusion system, integrated offset electrode adjustment to facilitate tungsten alignment, adjustable clamping pressure and ergonomic handles for easier positioning and operation.
All three AMX weld heads feature water cooling, a maximum welding current of 150 A and an 8 m (27 ft) lead for increased flexibility.

The AMX range is designed for industries where weld quality, repeatability and cleanliness are critical, including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical processing, aerospace and high-purity process piping.
